Good progress was made on Saturday 13th July with the strip-down of the locomotive, with 9 people in attendance.

The spark arrestor in the smokebox was removed and a start was made on removing the concrete at the bottom of the smokebox.

The containers have been efficiently organised ready to receive further parts.

The right-hand side running board cover that enables the valve and piston to be removed has also been taken off and cleaned, with a view to modifying both sides with a bit of weld to make it safer and easier to extract the valves and pistons.
