Further progress was made with dismantling the loco at Ruddington on Saturday 1st March. Jobs included:

  • Removing the fireman’s side tender locker, packed behind with years of accumulated coal dust.
  • Removing more bolts which hold the tender tank to the frames.
  • Removing the brackets which hold the cab doors in place on the tender (salvaged for future re-use)
  • Wiring work on the front TPWS (Train Protection and Warning System) receiver box

With thanks to all who came along to help, as ever!
