We are excited to announce that 1264 will be displayed in ‘pole position’ outside in the sunshine (hopefully!) at Ruddington during the Great Central Railway 125th Anniversary weekend, on 16th and 17th March.

And for the first time in many years, you will be able to ‘cab’ the locomotive – last chance before we start taking her apart for overhaul!

Join us for this spectacular weekend which will ‘reunify’ the Great Central Railway (Loughborough) and the Great Central Railway Nottingham for a celebration of the 125th opening of the GCR London Extension.

A Rail Replacement Bus Service will ‘reunify’ the two halves of the railway with a service between Quorn and Woodhouse Station and Ruddington Station to allow you to explore all of the attractions with one inclusive ticket that is valid for entry to all sites and includes train travel and the reunification bus service. Kids go for a Quid (aged 3-15 inclusive).

For more details and to buy tickets, please visit https://www.gcrailway.co.uk/whatson2024/

This page also gives details of more than 30 different attractions available during the weekend across both halves of the railway, including displays, model railways, vintage bus rides, miniature railway rides, shed tours and several places to sit back and enjoy refreshments.

Four steam locomotives are rostered to be in steam plus ‘Iris’ the DMU and the very special NER Autocar.

The Thompson B1 Locomotive Trust stand will be located next to 1264 at Ruddington; please do come and have a chat to us about our plans for the loco and how you can get involved.
