We are delighted to announce that new member Phil Morton of Loughborough is the winner of our competition to secure a Bachmann 00 gauge 1264 in LNER Lined Green livery. He plans to give the model to his father as a Christmas present – what a selfless chap!

In celebration of this we share a picture from the archives, above, which shows 1264 when first returned to steam, leaving Loughborough Central on the Great Central Railway, not long after her 20-year restoration from Barry scrapyard condition was completed (photographer unknown).
